This Indenture made the fifteenth day of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six Between Mosh Reverend Michael A. Corrigan,of the city of New York, party of the first part andThe Roman Catholic Church of St. Paul; of the same place, party of the second part Witnesselth that the said party, of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One-------dollar, lawful money of the United States of America to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at or before the ensealing or delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, released, remised, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise, release, conveyand confirm unto the said party of the second part and to its successor, or assigns forever All those four certain lots pieces or parcels of ground situate lying and being in the Twelfth Ward of the city of New York, known and distinguished on a certain Map of the property of Peter Poillon
made by f. F. Bridges, city surveyor, bearing date September 1826 and which is now on file in the office of the register in and for the City and Country of New York as lots numbers five hundred and forty one (541), five hundred and forty two (542), five hundred and forty three (543), and five hundred and forty four (544), and which are bounded as follows: Northerly bye the center line between one hundred and seventeenth and one hundred and eighteenth street: Westerly by a line drawn parallel to fourth Avenue, as widened, on the Easterly side thereof, at a distance of one hundred and forty feet therefrom, as widened, Southerly in front by one hundred and seventeenth street and Easterly by a line drawn parallel to fourth avenue, as widened, on the Easterly side thereof at the distance of two hundred and and forty feet therefrom. Each of said lots being in breadth in front and rear each twenty five (25) feet and about one hundred (100) feet deep. Being the same premises conveyed to the Trustees of the church of St. Paul by Archibald Wath, by deed dated the 1st day of may 1835, and recorded in the office of the Register of the City and Country of New York in Liber 337 of conveyances page 489, on the 15th day of August 1835 And also all those two certain lots of land situate in the Twelfth Ward of the City of New York Known and distinguished on a certain map made by f. F. Bridges City Surveyor, of land formerly belonging to Sampson Benson and Benjamin Vredenburgh, deceased, which map bears date September 1826, and is now on file in the office of the Register of the City and Country of New York, as lots numbers Five hundred and fifty four (554) and Five Hundred and fifty five (555), and bounded as follows, viz: Northerly by one hundred and eighteenth street; Southerly by the center line between one hundred and seventeenth and one hundred and Eighteenth Street; Westerly by a line drawn parallel to fourth avenue, as widened, on the easterly side thereof, at the distance of one hundred and sixty-five (165) feet therefrom; and Easterly by a like parallel line to the Fourth Avenue, asividened, at a distance of five hundred and fifteen (215) feet therefrom. Being the same premises conveyed by Peter Lynch to John Hughes, Archbishop, of New York by deed dated November 13th1858, and recorded in the office of the register of the City and Country of New York in Liber 770 of conveyance, on page 226 December 1st 1858. And also All the certain lot pieces or parcel of land situate lying and being in the Twelfth Ward of the City of New York distinguished by number five hundred and forty (540) on a certain map made by f. F. Bridges City Surveyor, of lands formerly belonging to Samuel Benson and Benjamin Vredenburgh, deceased, situate in the then Twelfth Ward of the City and Country of New York, and bounded and described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point on the Northerly line of One hundred and seventeenth street distant one hundred and fifteen (115) feet Easterly From the corner formed by the intersection of fourth avenue, as ividened, and the said Northerly line of one hundred and seventeenth street, and running thence Northerly and parallel with fourth avenue one hundred (100) feet, ten (10) inches to the centre line of the block: thence Easterly along said, centre line twenty-five (25) feet; thence Southerly and parallel with Fourth avenue one hundred (100) feet, ten (10) inches to the Northerly line of one hundred and seventeenth street; and thence Westerly along said Northerly line, of one hundred and seventeenth street twenty-five (25) feet to the place of beginning being the same premises conveyed by Peter Mc Elmeel to John Hughes arch bishop of New York by deed dated October 1st 1855, and recorded in the office of the Register of the City and Country of New York in Liber 693 of conveyances page 177 October 1st 1855. And also all that certain lot piece or parcel of land situate lying and being on the Northerly side of one hundred and seventeenth street in the Twelfth Ward of the City of New York and bounded and described as follows, Viz:commencing at a point on the Northerly side of said 100 and seventeenth street distant two hundred and forty (240) feet Easterly from the north Easterly corner of one hundred and seventeenth street and fourth avenue, as widened, running thence Northerly and parallel with Fourth avenue and one hundred feet to centre line of the block between one hundred and seventeenth and one hundred and eighteenth street; thence Easterly parallel with one hundred and seventeenth street twenty-five (25) feet; thence Southerly and parallel with Fourth avenue one hundred (100) feet to said Northerly side of one hundred and seventeenth street; and thence westerly along said Northerly side of one hundred and seventeenth street twenty five (25) feet to the point or place of beginning said lot being known and distinguished on a certain map made by f. F. Bridges city surveyor, of land formerly belonging to Sampson Benson and Benjamin Vredenburgh deceased, as lot number five hundred and forty five (545) being the same premises conveyed by Thomas E. Davis to John Hughes Archbishop of New York by deed dated April 27th 1853 and recorded in the Registers office of the city and country of New York in Liber 631 of conveyances page 438 May 26th 1853. And also All those certain pieces of parcels of land situate lying and being in the Twelfth Ward of the City of New York known and distinguished on a certain map made bye f. F. Bridges City surveyor of land formally belonging toSamuel Benson and Benjamin Vredenburgh deceased situate in the Twelfth Ward aforesaid which map bears date September 1826 and is now on file in the office of the Register of the City and Country of New York as lots numbered five hundred and fifty seven (557), bounded as follows Northerly by one hundred and Eighteenth street Southerly by the centre line between one hundred and seventeenth street and one hundred and eighteenth street Westerly by a line drawn parallel to the fourth avenue on the easterly side thereof as widened at the distance of two hundred and fifteen (215) feet there from and Easterly by a like parallel line to the fourth Avenue at the distance formerly of two hundred and eighty-five (285) feet as marked on said, now two hundred and sixty five (265) feet therefrom. Being the same premises conveyedby William H. Ingersoll to the M. Riv. John McClosky Archbishop, by deed dated july 17th 1867, and recorded in office of the Register of the City and Country of New York in Liber 10034 of conveyances page 54, September 28th 1867. And also All that certain lot pieces or parcel of land at Harlem in the Twelfth Ward of the city of New York, in the block between Third and Fourth avenue and one hundred and seventeenth and one hundred and eighteenth street, bounded and described as follows:Commencing at a point on the southerly side of one hundred and Forty (140) feet Easterly from the Easterly line of fourth avenue, as widened, and running thence Easterly along the southerly side of one hundred and Eighteenth street twenty-five (25) feet thence Southerly and in line parallel with fourth avenue ninety six (96) feet Eleven (11) inches; thence westerly and parallel with one hundred and eighteenth street Eight (8) feet; thence southerly and parallel with Fourth avenue four (4) feet to the centre line of the block between one hundred and seventeenth and one hundred and eighteenth street; thence Westerly along said centre line seventeen (17) feet, and thence Northerly and parallel with fourth avenue, one hundred (100) feet and eleven (11) inches to the place of beginning on the southerly line of one hundred and eighteenth street; being the same premises conveyed by John and Jane Butter to M. Rev. John McClosky Archbishop by deed dated August 11th 1870 and recorded in the office of the Register of the city and country of New York in Liber 1158 of conveyances page 109 August 11th 1870 the change in the distance from the Eastern side of fourth avenue being caused by the widening of said Fourth avenue in 1853 when Twenty (20) feet were taken of the (? Western or eastern?) side of the fourth avenue lots. Together with all _ ?__ singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenance thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and ???eversion and reversions, remainder and remainders re?ts issues and profits thereof. And also All the e??te, right, time, interest, property, possession, claim and demand whatsoever as well in law as in equity of the said party of the first part of in, or to the above described p??nises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances To have and to hold allows singe?? The above mentioned and described premises together with the appurtenances unto the paid party of the second part its successors or assign forever.
